This is a very unusual project by many standards because it combines odd and sometimes shocking disparate elements. The animation was inspired by a book entitled The Art of Critical Making: Rhode Island School of Design on Creative Practice. At the heart of the inspiration were Pirandello's Six Characters in Search of an Author, and a need to relate intellectual cultural concepts back to their sources in La Frontera (The Borderlands). There is a movie, Dead When I Got There, directed, produced and filmed by Mark Aitken, and a website.
